God has since transformed Kristen's life, and in the process He has gifted her with the ability to share the message of His love and hope through music and songwriting, and through witnessing her experiences and testimony to others.  To date, God has blessed Kristen with more than 40 original songs about His love and hope, which she shares regularly through privately and publicly held praise concerts.  Additionally, Kristen has written an eight week lecture series, titled, "His Side of the Looking Glass: Seeing Yourself as God Sees You", where she recounts her personal journey in learning to see herself as created for a noble purpose and how she looks to God's guidance to become the woman He has created her to be.

Kristen is an active member and strong leader within her church and community.  She committed five years to the local Alpha program leading worship, facilitating small groups, and assisting in the training of personal ministry and pastoral care.  Additionally, Kristen has been very involved in Windwood's Women's ministry and Single Adults group, and volunteers frequently to provide Christian music and entertainment for the local senior citizen and retirement homes.

When she is not making herself available for public and personal ministry to those in need, she spends her time caring for her loving husband and family, reading, learning photography, enjoying the company of good friends, and maintaining a closer walk with Jesus.  Her mission is to help others deepen their relationship with God through Jesus Christ, as He has equipped her to do.

Lawrence J. Clark: Musician, Singer-Songwriter, Worship Leader, Public Speaker

Lawrence J. Clark, who claims he will be 29 forever, was baptized in September 1980.  

God has blessed Lawrence with the gifts and talents of music, teaching and leadership.  Within his church, he has supported the singles, youth, music and drama ministries.  Lawrence has a great desire to spread the Good News and seeks opportunities outside the church to reach those who have not yet heard.  He was in missionary service in 1982 and again during 1987-1988.  Lawrence has also led Bible studies at colleges and performed at school assembly programs.  Writing songs, leading worship at various events and working on special music is also how Lawrence likes to spend his time.

Currently, Lawrence is a professor of writing and English at Houston Baptist University, and is a member of Metropolitan Baptist Church in Northwest Houston.  He enjoys listening to and playing music, camping, reading and writing.  In addition to his work with His Witness Ministries, Lawrence also performs regularly as The Singing Poet Guy in public schools, libraries, and community centers across the country. 

His favorite verse is Joshua 1:9, “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go."   

Jami Hain:  Singer, Prayer Warrior

Jami Hain, 40 something, was baptized in the Methodist Church at age 13.  She has been a member of Windwood Presbyterian Church since 1996 where she met Kristen while singing with the Praise Team. God has gifted Jami with compassion, teaching, evangelism and a passion for singing.

As a member of Windwood, Jami has been involved in numerous ministries including Evangelism Council, Women’s Ministries, Worship & Arts Council, ALPHA, A Servant’s Heart (Windwood’s Praise & Worship Team), Habitat for Humanity, Communion Guild and served on the Session as an Elder from 1999-2002.With her passion to spread the Good News, Jami has used her gifts and talents outside the church walls not only through His Witness Ministries, but also by leading worship for ALPHA retreats, singing at nursing homes, leading worship for other church retreats and hurricane relief through Red Cross nursing.

Currently, Jami is a Mom, Wife, School Nurse, Doula, Birth Assistant and Breastfeeding Counselor. She enjoys singing, scrap booking, face-painting, volunteering and playing games with family & friends. Proverbs 3:5-6 “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths” is one of Jami’s favorite scriptures.In her words, “I like knowing that I don’t have to count on having all the answers … I can trust that God has my best interest at heart and He will show me the way.”

Jami would also like to share with others how much Kristen and His Witness Ministries have been a blessing in her life. “Kristen has been given such a precious gift in the music she writes and sings.  To be part of helping her share that gift and the gift of God’s love with others has been amazing.  As an extra blessing, God has given me a very special friendship with Kristen that I deeply cherish.  My prayer is that God will continue to bless others through this ministry and that He will multiply my gifts and talents to use me in incredible ways to bring glory to His kingdom and touch the hearts of His children.”

Linda Tongberg:  Prayer Warrior

Linda was born and raised in Houston.  She was baptized in May of 1974 at Pines Presbyterian Church, but soon after her family started attending services at Windwood Presbyterian Church and have remained there ever since. 

Linda attended an ALPHA course at Windwood in the Spring of 2001 and rededicated her life to Christ as she discovered the power of having an actual relationship with Jesus Christ.  It was no longer a story of the past and what it means for her in her death, it was about a living presence, a friend who loves her, and who not only helped her then, but helps her every day and enriches every aspect of her life. After being a participant in the ALPHA course, Linda became a part of the ministry for the next 3 years sharing her experience and newfound love with others. 

Linda is also involved in the Women's Ministry at Windwood and helps put together worship presentations for their yearly retreats.  To have pictures along with the words they are singing gives the worshippers something physical to focus on and helps to deepen their worship time. 

Outside of church, Linda started a Christian Book Club that meets once a month to discuss what effect the books we read have on our Christian walk.  Participants are invited to read any kind of book they desire, but when they come together the discussion focuses on what God has said to them through the pages they read.

Currently, Linda is an Administrator for Halliburton Energy Services in the Technology Research Division.  While away from the office she enjoys reading, watching movies, throwing parties and spending time with her family and friends.
